Evolving Nature: OT-LAS at the DECORTECH Arena in TECNA 2026

From September 22nd to 25th, we will be at TECNA 2026, the international event dedicated to technologies and supplies for the ceramic industry and the world of surfaces, scheduled for the Rimini Exhibition Center.
You’ll find us inside the DECORTECH Conference, the area dedicated to technologies for decorating and finishing surfaces, where on September 24th we’ll participate in the “Decortech Conference” roundtable.
Throughout the conference we will also be present with an exhibition point inside the DECORTECH Arena (Hall B5-D5), where you can see and touch a selection of samples made with our laser technologies.

DECORTECH Conference 2026: When Technology and Materials Meet

The 2026 edition of the DECORTECH Conference focuses on an increasingly timely topic: the relationship between materials, design, and technological innovation.
The “Surfaces made to matter” payoff speaks well of this approach. We no longer talk about individual materials, but about applications, processes, and solutions capable of creating value for designers and companies.
It’s a setting we’ve always shared: the laser is not simply a processing technology, but a tool that allows us to rethink the way a material is designed, decorated, and used.

Evolving Nature: Our Contribution to the Roundtable

On September 24th, from 10:00 to 11:00, we will participate as guests in the round table “Evolving Nature“, dedicated Laser Technology: Functional and Aesthetic, a New Way of Interpreting Materials
The starting point will be wood, but the reflection will extend to many other materials used in architecture and interior design.
We will bring our experience in the development of laser applications on marble, stone, wood, paper, fabric and leather, showing how laser, especially CO₂ can combine functionality and aesthetics overcoming many limitations typical of traditional workings.

When the right surface doesn’t exist yet

It often happens during the development of a project: the architect imagines a particular texture, the designer defines an original pattern. The customer approves a surface that, simply, does not exist in the catalog.

Maybe you need a few pieces, a prototype or a small production. With traditional technologies, this almost always means creating dedicated equipment, with time and costs that especially impact low circulation.

With the laser the paradigm changes: the decoration becomes a digital file. It is possible to move from one project to another without replacing tools, molds or clutches, ensuring precision on the single piece and on the series, maintaining, in the latter, the necessary repeatability.

For over 40 years we have been carrying out this philosophy, to allow those who use our technology to transform applications into solutions designed for real production needs.

Aesthetics and function in the same process

The most interesting aspect comes when the decoration is not just an aesthetic element. A micro-drilling can simultaneously improve the acoustics of an environment.
An engraving on the stone modifies the surface finish creating a decorative and distinctive effect while maintaining the material appearance and at the same time giving an undeniable functional advantage, such as the anti-slip effect.
A leather work does not add a surface layer, but becomes an integral part of the material, maintaining its own characteristics over time.
It is precisely this integration between design and performance that makes the laser a design tool, even before production.

The materials we will bring to the DECORTECH Arena

In our exhibition space, it will be possible to observe close-up workings made on different materials and discuss possible applications with our team.

Marble and natural stone

Deep carvings, decorative textures and continuous patterns made with high precision, even on large surfaces.

Wood

Decoration, engraving and micro-drilling for panels for furniture and interior design, with applications also in the acoustic field.

Paper and cardboard

Cutting, engraving and micro-perforation without mechanical contact, ideal for packaging, fittings and decorative elements.

Tissue

Marking, engraving and cutting with sealed edges, even on custom work and variable production.

Skin

High-precision engraving and fretwork, with defined details and processes that directly enhance the material, without resorting to inks or surface treatments.

We’ll be waiting for you at the DECORTECH Arena, Hall B5-D5

If you work in architecture, interior design, or surface manufacturing, stop by during TECNA 2026.

You will be able to attend the “Nature in Evolution” round table, see live the applications made with our laser machines and compare with our team about the needs of your project.
