Acrylic Laser Cutting and Engraving
Acrylic is much suitable for laser cutting, since the final result shows very neat and accurate edges. The PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) is a synthetic material very similar to glass, and it is easily worked when heated. It is widely used in the advertising industry for the creation of banners and advertising signs, but also for common-use objects such as lamps, decorations, signs, furnishing accessories, jewels and much more.
Recently the use of acrylic material is gaining more and more importance in the lighting field; galvanometric materials are used to create small points engraved on the material, having the same distance one from the other, to allow the light uniform diffusion over the entire area.
Why using laser to cut and engrave acrylic?
- higher productivity, lower costs and waste
- Cut edges and engravings are neat and clean since the first working, and there is no need for any additional finishing
